Banish Starter Kit + The Starter Cleanser

Having lived with acne since teen, I've always been in constant look out for the right product for my skin. Back then, I regularly had breakouts and it really effected my confidence growing up. At that time, I was clueless about the types of skincare products available and the steps or routine to maintain a clear skin.  I was too embarrassed to ask for help and resolved in trial and error on different kinds of products in the supermarket but I ended up with even more breakouts. Now, I still have adult acnes/scars and I really rely on high coverage foundation to cover my blemishes. I was delighted when I was approached by Daisy, founder of Banish, to try out a few of Banish Products. I've heard so much of Banish in social media and I've decided to get the Banish Starter Kit + The Starter Cleanser.

The Starter Cleanser is a separate item from the Starter Kit and it is easily one of my instant favourite. It is a natural cleanser with no sulfates, which means it doesn't foam and doesn't dry out the skin. Foamy cleanser can be quite harsh on the skin as it strips down all the oil which leads to that tightness feeling. Without the oil, the skin will produce more oil than usual which leads to clogged pore and acnes. This cleanser is best for dry, acne prone, sensitive and problematic skin which is quite universal as most people will have at least 2 of the skin types listed.

One of my most eager item to try from Banish will be their Activated Charcoal Clay Masque. This mask is great for large pores as the activated charcoal absorbs the impurities from the spaces in the pores. I love this product because I use make up everyday and even though I double cleanse my skin every night, I still think that I need to take a further step with skin care routine. When using this product, it is recommend to use Banish Vitamin C Elixir to create a thin texture of the paste. I applied it all over the face and wait for it to dry completely before I wash it off gently with cool water (cool water to close the pores).

There are 2 things I love about October, Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte and Banish Pumpkin Enzyme Masque! The mask works almost immediately and I can feel the stingy feeling as I apply a thin layer of it to my face.  It really smells like a fresh pumpkin! As I washed the mask off with cool water, my skin felt so much softer and bouncier that before. Apart from the smell, this jar of wonder is packed with loads of vitamins and natural enzymes that helps to improve skin texture.
  • Vitamin A for healing skin by drying out acnes while exfoliating the skin. It also reduces the appearance of oily skin, which means lesser acnes.
  • Vitamin C & Beta-Carotene for antioxidant to protect the skin by reversing damaged skin and improves its elasticity.
  • Alpha Hydroxy Acids for natural exfoliator that removes dead skin cells that brighten the skin.

Using the Pore Eraser is the best feeling ever! It's basically a no mess ice facial at the convenience of your own home. All I need to do is to detached the roller and put it in the freezer for a couple of hours and start rolling the cold surface onto the skin. Large pores be gone! It basically reduces the size of pores and as it get smaller, skin will look tighten thus appearing much smoother. If I ever felt my eyes are slightly puffy in the morning, I will use the roller to reduce the puffiness around the eye area before applying my make up. I also like to use the roller before or after using the Banisher to numb the skin from the needle treatment.
Pore Smasher - Always clean with soap after use

The stylish Banish Kit storage bag is packed with Vitamin C Serum, Medium Banisher and a cleaning container (to sterilise the Banisher). Before my night skincare routine, I like to sterilise the banisher with rubbing alcohol and just put it aside.

When using the Banisher, I like to do gentle rolls along my cheeks and my acnes scars. Try not to rush this process because over rolling can be discomforting afterwards. Even though the titanium bristles may look small to the eye, it's actually really sharp. For the Pen Stamp, use this around active acne. The Banisher functions to revitalise and retexture skin surface. It is recommended to do this process once every 1-2 weeks as we need to let the skin heal before another session with the Banisher or Pen Stamp. Results is visible within 4-8 weeks.

Thing to take note after using the Banisher:
  • Do not exfoliate after the Banisher
  • Do not use on active acne
  • Avoid make up the next day
  • wear enough sunscreen the next day.
  • Do not use while on Accutane
After the treatment, apply the Vitamin C Serum evenly on the face.

After the Banisher, spray the Vitamin C Beauty Elixir generously to seal the goodness in. The elixir promotes healing especially after using the Banisher and at the same time reduce skin inflammation.

Here is my naked face before and after Banish. I am beyond impressed with the results. Not only the scarring is much lesser, I also felt that my skin is much softer and supple. My clogged pores around the nose area can be quite problematic and Banish had cleared it well. Pore size is much smaller too and I've had lesser acne now.
