400 Gradi - Brunswick East, Melbourne

Look at this insane custom wood fire pizza oven! We know that we're getting the real authentic taste of Italian if they make their pizza in one of these. 400 Gradi is well-known for their pizza and all of them will have to go through here.
Up close and personal with the famous 400 Gradi wood fire oven!
Let's start with some cheese and meat. For starter, we were highly recommended to have the salumi and cheese platter for appetiser. In short, 400 Gradi sure have a great selection of cheese and salumi to choose from. We really need a few moments to appreciate this beauty of a meal.
Salumi & Cheese Platter
Let's break it down. For the cheese we had the Parmigiana Reggiani (aged cow milk 24mth) and Mozzarella Di Bufala (buffalo milk). Both cheese are so creamy and rich but we enjoyed more from the hard cheese.
Mozzarella Di Bufala
Soft, buffalo milk
Parmigiana Reggiani
Hard, aged cow mil, parma 24 mth
All the cheese platter comes with pairings such as quince jelly, pickles, olives, raisins, etc. The cheeses are great by themselves but mixing it with quince jelly is definitely something.

We had the Prosciutto Crudo di Parma Morello (20mth) and Salame Felino for salumi. Both salumi are too die for. The meats are indeed made with quality and you can tell by the taste. Parma Morello is thin and soft in texture, taste amazing eating it by itself or as a topping on pizza.

Salame felino is pure pressed pork and their texture is rather chewy compared to prosciutto. Taste equally amazing and definitely great with cheese and wine.

These garlic focaccia come as optional with your salumi & cheese platter. The focaccia is so fragrance by itself and great to eat with the salumi and cheese platter.

Margherita verace is a definition of perfect simplicity and it is a crowds favourite! It taste so simple yet satisfying. We can taste the basil, extra virgin olive oil, tomatoes and mozzarella cheese as we took our first bite. It is safe to say that they have ruined pizza for us. We need more pizza and not just any pizza. we need 400 Gradi pizza!
Margherita verace (V)
San Marzano tomato, for di latte, basil and extra virgin oil
We are not prepared for this! We love us some margherita but this is definitely our top pick and our one so far.  We know the pizza look intense but the seafood toppings are so soft and the pizza base compliment the seafood flavour. All seafood lovers, definitely have to try this!
Frutti di mare
San Marzano tomato, fior de latte, mussels, Queensland prawns, clams, scallops and rockets
It will be rude to not wash it all down with dessert. After that hearty meal, we set off next door for some gelato at Zero Gradi.
