Sate Khas Senayan - Jakarta

This is the most authentic Javanese food (masakan jawa) in Jakarta. From their appetisers to desserts, we must say that everything is absolutely delicious. Starting with the satay, the peanut sauce is really creamy with nuts, peanut butter, brown sugar and sweet soy sauce. In here, you can choose your favourite meat for your satay: beef or lamb or chicken (breast, tight or skin).

During end of April, we also receive a complimentary Tahu Telor for their monthly promotion. It is a deep fried tofu & egg serves with nuts, bean sprout and petis sauce. The sauce is made from sticky black fermented shrimp paste, fried shallots, brown/palm sugar and ground peanuts.

Ayam Goreng Kremes (Kremes Fried Chicken) is one of the best dish in Java. Kremes is made from rice flour and chicken broth, both deep fried into golden brown and served as the topping of the chicken. The dish is also serve with sayer asem (tamarind vegetable soup).

Lunch is SERVED
The gurame fish is a must order here and we cannot emphasis on how crispy it is. Sate khas Senayan serves both Gurame Jimbaran and Fried Gurame. Even though both dishes are technically the same, the chilli/sambal is serve differently. Gurame Jimbaran's chilli included tomatoes in the ingredients, therefore it is less spicy compared to the Fried Gurame.

For dessert, these two will be the best option. If you don't like durian, definitely just go for the es cendol.

Es cincau (grass jelly) is a combination of coconut milk, syrup and grass jelly. The cincau by itself is bland but once the syrup is well mixed along with the coconut milk, we got ourselves a bowl of mildly sweet dessert which is perfect for a closing to a heavy meal.
