Kaki Lima AU

Kaki Lima Dine In
Kaki Lima recently opened its door to bring Indonesian hawker foods to Melbourne. It has a variety of different dishes from all over Indonesia, including Java, Bali, Sulawesi and Sumatra.

Pork Belly Sambal Matah
I enjoyed their Pork belly with sambal matah so much that I personally claim that I can eat that everyday. Sambal matah is a Balinese chilli that comes with a lot of shallot which normally served with suckling pig or seafood at Jimbaran Bali. It is so rich with flavour and definitely made me felt slightly nostalgic for Balinese food.

Grilled Fish Rica-Rica
For Jeany, she prefers fish and of course she had to order the Grilled Fish Rica-rica. Rica-rica is a type of chilli originated from Manado, North Sulawesi. For those who can handle spicy food, this is the dish for you and it is definitely more spicy that the sambal matah. Rica-rica is famous locally and surprisingly Kaki Lima manage to bring the authentic taste into one of their dish.

We also tried the Sukiyaki Cabe Ijo and fell in love with the chilli. Cabe ijo or Green chilli is one of the signature food companion originated from Padang, North Sumatra. Jeany is an instant fan of the dish. I, on the other hand, am not a big fan of sukiyaki beef but the green chilli absolutely blew my mind.

We also had a chance to try the Crazy Rice which is originated from Jakarta. Kaki Lima's Crazy Rice is a deconstruct fried rice and we have to mix it with the meat combo and sauce. Chilli options are available.

Kaki Lima Take Away
When people ask me of my favourite Indonesian restaurant in Melbourne, I'll  never had anything in mind because let's face it, nothing is as good home cook food. Finally after 9 years of living in Melbourne, I have Kaki Lima as a go-to place to satisfy my crave for Indonesian food.

Star struck!
During the grand opening of Kaki Lima, we had the chance of meeting the lovely Indonesian sisters from MKR 2016!
