Lunar Markets Festival

CNY ornament in Docklands
Let's eat!

Hoy Pinoy
BBQ Pork Belly Skewers
First stop, BBQ pork belly! We had these skewers on the last Night noodle market and we simply love it! Obviously, we have to get it again in the festival. Hoy Pinoy is well-known for their skewers and they categories themselves as street food which is one of the reason why they don't have their own restaurant or shop. You can spot them at Queen Victoria Night market every Wednesday night until March the 30th 2016.

Fried Mushroom Trio, Braised Pork Belly and Char Siew Bao

Grilled Calamari

Kiyamachi Tei
Pork Yakisoba
This Japanese stir fried noodles is surprisingly tasty and we love the texture of the noodle. Kind of reminds us of Japanese savoury pancake (okonomiyaki). We believe that if they don't put the mayo topping, it will taste even better since the noodle itself is already so flavourful.

Kiyamachi Tei
Green Tea Mochi

Halo Halo
Not as good as it looks, but it's one of the top dessert in the festival besides N2. Personally, I think that the mixture is rather bland, but at least their jellies are good!

N2 Extreme Gelato
Hipster Cookie & Cream
Another concoction creations by N2, the Hipster Cookie & Cream and Gong Xi Fa Cai Cake Smash. The Chinese New Year theme is definitely on point. Hipster Cookie & Cream is a mix between almond and pineapple gelato with sesame cookie. Of course the they have to top that with fortune cookie, dehydrated pineapple and pineapple sauce in pipette.

N2 Extreme Gelato
Gong Xi Fa Cai Smash Cake
We love Gong Xi Fa Cai Cake Smash and it is by far our favourite dessert in the festival. Believe it or not we had 3 serves of cup of joy (and there is just the 2 of us). It is strawberry watermelon cake smash with raspberries popping candy (red colour to mimic Chinese firecracker) and haw flakes (displayed as gold coins). Talk about Chinese New Year theme on point! Isn't it festive and celebratory?
